Guidelines:
- We intend to publish within 7 days all responses that contribute substantially to the topic under discussion.
- To avoid points that have already been made please read other people's responses before posting your own.
- Letters will be reviewed and are subject to editing.
- Letters may be up to 500 words in length with a maximum of 5 references.
- If absolutely necessary, one figure or table may be submitted separately, as an e-mail attachment, to the following address: pb@rcpsych.ac.uk.
- Please supply each author's current appointment and full address, and contact telephone and fax numbers for the corresponding author.
- Letters must include a declaration of interest (listing fees and grants from, employment by, consultancy for, shared ownership in, or any close relationship with, and organisation whose interests, financial or otherwise, may be affected by publication of the letter) in respect of all authors.
- If an individual patient is described, his or her signed informed consent must be received before publication: please fax to the Correspondence Editor on +44 (0)20 7259 6507.
- At the discretion of the Editor, accepted letters may be selected for inclusion in the correspondence column of the print edition of the Psychiatric Bulletin.
- You will receive by e-mail an acknowledgement of your submission. Please do not submit duplicate copies by fax or mail. Submission of a letter constitutes permission for the Royal College of Psychiatrists to use it in the online edition of the Psychiatric Bulletin, and in collections, revisions and any other form or medium.
