This journal has grown steadily in status and authority over the years, and is now the journal of record for developments in psychiatric practice and service provision. In addition to a wide selection of peer-reviewed papers, regular columns cover audit and education in psychiatry. The extensive and much-quoted correspondence column provides an important forum for debate on topical issues. There are regular articles about service provision around the world.
